A vintage, original Leo chair and footstool, designed by Robin Day for Hille.
Originally designed in 1965, the Leo chair still stands the test of time and looks as fashionable and contemporary today as it did then.
We have completely reupholstered the chair and footstool from scratch using only the highest quality materials, and finished it in a lovely mustard yellow wool (100% Wool) from Abraham Moons. It was difficult to capture the true colour of the fabric, which is a very juicy mustard. A fabric sample can be provided upon request.
As with all our re-upholstered items, the chair and footstool now comply with the UK Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations
The chrome legs on the chair are in excellent condition. There is some tarnishing to the legs on the footstool, the worst of which can be seen in the last photo, but this doesn't detract from the beauty of these pieces.
The Leo won the ultimate seal of style approval when it was featured in early James Bond films (including "You Only Live Twice"), affirming the Leo's iconic status.
We have another chair (also fully reupholstered in the same fabric) available in a separate listing. Please message us if you are interested in both chairs and the stool.
